Heavy rain has fallen on the far-east island and Sunderland¡¦s semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur was cut short because of a waterlogged pitch.
The start of the match was delayed by half-an-hour and the game was reduced to two 40-minute halves once it got underway.
Rain has continued to fall at times ahead of Saturday¡¦s final against Manchester City at the Hong Kong stadium.
When Di Canio was asked if he was concerned about the safety of his players, he replied: ¡§Of course.
¡§It is a killer pitch with this weather, it is dangerous, at this stage of the season especially.
¡§I¡¦m worried.¡¨
Sunderland have changed their preparation for the match because of the weather.
The Italian said: ¡§They [the players] were not happy because they run without the ball this morning.
¡§We couldn¡¦t play on the field.¡¨
Tottenham manager Andre-Villas Boas has also expressed concerns, admitting he would prefer the final games to be called off.
