Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre recently confirmed to Bloomberg that Arsenal have made an offer for the Uruguay international, with a second bid from the Gunners said to be in the region of ¢G35 million.

Arsenal have stepped up their attempt to sign Luis Suarez with a ¢G40,000,001 offer - which Liverpool have rejected.
But Liverpool have knocked back the new offer, maintaining that they are only compelled to inform the 26-year-old of any bids exceeding that amount - and that they do not have to sell at that price.
They have made it clear that they do not want to sell the striker, and are unlikely to contemplate any offers below ¢G50 million.
