Rebel Soldier sale casts doubt on Voltigeur run
REBEL SOLDIER, one of the leading contenders for next week's Sportingbet.com Great Voltigeur Stakes, may miss the Group 2 contest having been sold to race in Hong Kong.
A winner of the Group 3 Betfair Gordon Stakes at Goodwood on his last start, Rebel Soldier had previously destroyed handicap company at York.
However, trainer Jeremy Noseda has revealed that a "huge offer" has led to the horse being sold.
"He's still with me and I am training him for the race," Noseda said on Tuesday.
"He has been sold though and it rests with the vets now. If they can get him examined by the weekend he will miss the race. Obviously I hope that is not the case as I would love him to run.
"It's a shame that we will lose him, but the new owners made a huge offer following Goodwood and the current owner [Earle Mack] had to sell. He will race in Hong Kong."
